A tasty chocolate smoothie, that can be great as a quick breakfast to go or an energy boost throughout the day!
Great for energy boosting with slow releasing sugars that found naturally in the banana, balanced with delicious raw almonds and heart-healthy antioxidants from the organic cacao powder.
Cacao is awash with active phytochemicals that can have an amazing impact on our health. (1)
Cocoa contains more phenolic antioxidants than most foods. Flavonoids, including catechin, epicatechin, and procyanidins predominate in antioxidant activity. (2)
It is an incredibly dense source of the vital mineral magnesium.
Magnesium is involved in regulating gut mobility, and heart rhythm.
Cacao antioxidants help to protect the blood vessels from damage and reduce the oxidation of cholesterol.
Rich in the mineral potassium.
The amount of Potassium in 1 medium banana is 422.4 mg.
Potassium is a key in regulating heart rhythm and levels the body fluids, important for muscle function, including relaxing the walls of the blood vessels, this lowers blood pressure and protects against muscle cramping. Essential for the conduction of electrical signals in the nervous system and in the heart. (3)
- 8 Almonds, raw about 1 handful
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1.5 cups Vegan milk ( I use Coconut-Almonds) 350 ml

Sprinkle cinnamon on top to add some extra health benefits with a rich, deep flavour of the cinnamon.
Add a handful of fresh-frozen baby spinach for a green spin, the taste is unnoticeable and you gain the greens health benefits.
