Two weeks ago I got to try CBD OIL from OH. Wellness.
Before that, I had never taken CBD oil as a supplement (just tried it maybe once or twice, in shops to understand the flavour) but because of the latest hype in the industry, I felt curious about it.
I’m happy I tried it because for me it really worked fast and I felt the calming effects while taking CBD oil.
CBD oil lately is everywhere; from CBD water to mints, in skincare products and of course as an oil-based supplement.
The CBD oil supplement is considered to be good for stress management and anxiety, to calm down, sleep better and for pain management.
OH. Wellness created a combination of CBD oil with Essential Oils, that I consider brilliant because of the great flavours and the extra health benefits of the Essential Oils.
I tried the FOCUS one with peppermint and ENERGY with bergamot & orange.
A quick overview of CBD-
CBD or Cannabidiol is a non-psychoactive constituent of Cannabis sativa.
Cannabidiol is typically derived from marijuana or hemp, two forms of Cannabis sativa.
While marijuana often contains more than 15% THC, hemp is containing THC levels of 0.3% or lower.
CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.
I requested the lab report from OH. wellness and ask about their THC levels.
They declare they have pharma-grade CBD with ZERO THC in their products, and if you will ask they will send you a third–party certification (they send me one).
The oil has been thought to have some medicinal properties, including relieving inflammation, pain relief and reducing anxiety, although there have not been conclusive scientific studies on this.
CBD has been touted for a wide variety of health issues, but the strongest scientific evidence is for its effectiveness in treating childhood epilepsy syndromes, which typically don’t respond to anti-seizure medications.
Recently, the FDA approved the first-ever cannabis-derived medicine for these conditions, Epidiolex, which contains CBD.
CBD is commonly used to address anxiety, and insomnia, studies suggest that CBD may help with both falling asleep and staying asleep.
CBD may offer an option for treating different types of chronic pain and inflammation conditions with more study in humans is needed in this area to substantiate the claims of CBD proponents about pain control.
If you decide to try CBD, consult first with your health care provider, especially to check if there is any contraindication with other medications.
Oh. Wellness extracts their CBD in the UK from organic UK grown Hemp and they offer a great product that combined all the benefits of CBD (500mg) with lovely flavours of food-grade essential oils, the oils have an extra effect and together I think it is a lovely match.
I did get to try the products, but this blog post is not sponsored and reflects my own experience.
As a Naturopathic practitioner, I thought it will be beneficial to try supplements before I suggest my clients and my readers, to try as well.
